A 12 hour school day?!

#throwbackthursday

Last term, Tie-Dye Drama were delighted to be asked to collaborate with All Saint’s Catholic College as part of their 7-7 provision; a pilot to provide a 12 hour school day. You can read more about it on the link below. Our photos didn’t make it into the @guardian footage but we will make do with the general mention of drama!

We started the sessions with drama games, improvising and devising but the students’ interest soon became apparent: creating a horror/thriller story!

We got to work and, sure enough, the Abandoned Hospital production was complete! The fantastic group created this from their own ideas and discussions, utilising effects like immersive theatre to engage the full audience of fellow peers and staff.

Feedback:

In anonymous feedback forms, students evaluated their improvement in three areas.

100% of students Strongly Agreed that they improved their: Teamwork, Confidence and Feeling good about themselves.

Personalised feedback included:

"I loved doing it"

"I enjoyed how we all worked as a team and I would like to thank Ella for helping us put this all together and supporting us"

"My favourite part was how everyone came together and simply slayed".

Nothing like some year 7-9 honesty!

Building upon this success, we are so excited to be back at All Saints again, delivering another term of drama workshops. Let’s see if it will be as spooky as last time…
