Our tailor-made workshops focus on boosting well-being, building confidence and enhancing creativity.

We work within the age groups of Early Years, Primary School, Secondary School and Young Adults. We take pride in running inclusive workshops, adopting a supportive neurodivergent practice.

We bring the good kind of drama to your community group spaces or online via Zoom.

What does a workshop look like?

The workshop structure consists of 4 parts:

The creation (then recap) of the group’s collaborated Group Agreement and rules. Young people are given this opportunity and responsibility so that they will feel invested in the rules. Tie-Dye Drama poses their trademark Question of the Day; a fun and thoughtful question which the group can answer in turn. This question often plants a seed for the session’s focus or theme.
Tie-Dye Drama then leads games, aimed at warming up the participants' bodies and voices. This is an opportunity for everyone to loosen up, have fun and prepare for the activities ahead.
The main focus of the session will involve independent or group drama activities. These will be rehearsed then shared back to the group, who are guided to comment constructively or ask questions to further the action.
The workshop ends in a slowed and calm pace; participants are encouraged to cool down by joining with breathing activities. They are then given the opportunity to reflect on the session and celebrate their achievements.

What does a workshop look like?

During a Tie-Dye Drama (TDD) workshop, you can expect fun, moving around and the chance to create your own group drama scenes!

We start by talking about our expectations of each other. These often include: listening, showing respect and giving everything a go. These ideas turn into rules which make up our Group Agreement. We each sign this document to make it official. Every Tie-Dye Drama workshop involves a… drum roll please! … Question of the Day! The Tie-Dye Drama facilitator asks the question and each member of the group can respond with an action, word or by acting it out. A classic Tie-Dye Drama question asks: which ingredient would you add to the scientific potion?
We then get moving. We know that most of the school day involves keeping quite seated and still and so this is a great way to shake off some energy! In this part of the workshop, we play games that are linked to the day’s focus. We love our Tie-Dye Drama twist on the one and only: The Floor is Lava!
Drama time! That’s what you came for, right? Depending on where we’re at in the workshop process, this part could involve freeze frames as animals in the jungle or creating group drama scenes based on internet safety. Tie-Dye Drama champions everyone's ideas and guides you to turn them into engaging, entertaining performances. We value everyone's unique contributions and empower you to shine creatively, however you feel comfortable.
We finish with a cool down. “Taking 5” is our favourite way to breathe mindfully. We’re then ready to reflect, taking a moment to celebrate something that we enjoyed, learned or felt proud of ourselves or someone else for doing.

What does a series of workshops look like?

Workshop series (our most popular requests are 5 or 10 weeks) are a fantastic way to hone participant skills and deep dive into a topic or theme. Workshop series allow for a group to work together, strengthening their team work skills and creating a rehearsed, devised performance that has the opportunity to be presented to a wider, interactive audience.

Tie-Dye Drama loves the opportunity to build upon participant relationships, getting to know the participants and their strengths, needs and goals.
